Sunday FAQs
-
We meet on the second floor of the Ames Mill building, located next to the Waterfront Park in Richmond. The address is 307 Front Street, 2nd Floor, Richmond, ME 04357.
-
Our Sunday service begins at 10am, but we encourage people to arrive at least 15 minutes early to find a place to park, greet someone, and find a seat.
-
You can park one of two places: on the street in front of the Ames Mill building or the waterfront parking lot. Please be mindful not to block any driveways or park in non-public parking spaces. If you choose to park at the waterfront, we recommend you find a space in the dirt parking lot behind the building. Just leave enough room for other vehicles to be able to maneuver. Keep in mind the entrance is on Front Street.
-
While we don’t have a particular dress code, most of our members dress somewhere between “Sunday Best” and casual. “Business casual” may be the best way to describe it. Feel free to come as you are.

Our worship on Sunday follows this pattern:
Adoration: We begin the service by offering praise—through word and song—to the Triune God who created and upholds the universe. A pastor then reads a passage of Scripture to the congregation.
Confession: In the light of God’s majesty, our darkness is exposed. We confess our sin to God together by reciting Psalm 51, followed by a time of silent confession. The Scriptures are then read, reminding us of the forgiveness God offers in his son, Jesus Christ, to those who believe. We then respond to his forgiveness with songs of gratitude.
Intercession: Having given thanks for what God has done for us in Christ, a pastoral prayer is offered for the needs of the church and for those who are suffering. We then pray the Lord’s Prayer together, as Christ taught us, followed by a time of fellowship and financial giving.
Instruction: Once we have brought our requests to God, we enter into a time of instruction in the Christian Faith. The congregation recites the Apostles’ Creed to remind us of the essentials of the faith that have been believed in every generation of Christian history. A pastor then delivers a sermon, which is typically part of a passage-by-passage study through a book of the Bible.
Thanksgiving: We then move into the climax of our worship service when believers are invited into communion with the Lord Jesus himself through partaking of the bread and the cup, through which we are reminded of his suffering and death on our behalf.
Commission: Finally, the church is reminded of her mission in the world and how she is to conduct herself. This time is brought to a close when a prayer of benediction is offered by a pastor.

We believe children should participate in worship along with their families. This is one of the primary ways parents can train their children to love Christ and his church.
We also understand that very young children can make it difficult for parents to participate in the service. Because of this, we have a nursery available for children ages 0-3. These children are dismissed to nursery in the middle of our service, during a brief break before the sermon begins.
Please note that the nursery is optional and we encourage you to keep your children with you during the whole service if that is what you prefer.
